Warface Fall Season Brings a Major Content Update: Atomic Heart Collaboration, New Weapon Progression System, and More
Back
The new Warface season brings revamped weapon progression, updated matchmaking, a major collaboration with Atomic Heart, an enhanced Overpass map, new weapons, Agent John 47, and a lineup of seasonal activities. The update also features the song Novy Geroy (New Hero) by Mirage as its soundtrack.
Publisher and developer Astrum Entertainment has launched the fall season in the tactical shooter Warface. The update overhauls weapon progression, matchmaking, PvP and PvE content, the weapon meta, and seasonal activities.
One of the key changes is the revamped weapon progression system. It is now simpler and more convenient: weapon parts have been removed, which helps players upgrade weapons faster. Some weapons have also become more powerful without additional upgrades, while the updated interface allows players to upgrade weapons from a single screen.
Ranked Match matchmaking has also been improved. The system now takes more player data into account and picks players of similar skill levels and performance. This will reduce the number of matches where new players face more experienced opponents and make matchmaking fairer.
A major highlight of the season is the collaboration with Atomic Heart, featuring the solo Proton mission, the Bright Future event, and the CHAR-les glove. The collaboration kicks off on September 9. The Proton mission follows Ursula Ellis as she attempts to extract Oberon White from virtual reality with the help of an agent. However, a malfunction causes him to believe he is Major Nechaev and change the mission's objective himself. During the mission, players will visit familiar locations, including Chelomey, the Polygon, and the Final Arena, and have a chance to earn five achievements, two of which are tied to finding Easter eggs.
From September 9 to 30, the Bright Future event will be taking place as part of the collaboration. Its centerpiece is the PvP mode Gold Rush, where teams must capture control points, collect ingots from safes and defeated opponents, and deliver them. The main reward for completing the shared objective is the Makarov pistol. Battles will take place on the themed Atomgrad map inspired by the world of Atomic Heart, as well as Destination Modern and Factory.
The event features a shared community goal. Players can earn Warbucks through personal progression and unique stickers by contributing to the shared objective. The ultimate reward is the Makarov pistol with the NA-T256 camouflage.
In addition, the collaboration brings an updated version of the polymer glove, CHAR-les. Players can also unlock new camouflages for the Claymore, Motion Sensor, and Molotov Cocktail, each featuring unique animations.
The Overpass map returns in an enhanced version. The developers have updated its textures and objects, adjusted lighting, performance, animations, and sound, and reworked the balance.
The Warface arsenal has also been expanded with two new weapons. The SMC Charlie P320 is an automatic pistol fitted with the SMC Charlie Chassis. It offers good ergonomics, low weight, a high rate of fire, and the ability to dual-wield. The FX-05 Xiuhcoatl is a Mexican assault rifle equipped with paired magazines that speed up reloads during combat, although installing the system itself takes longer. As usual, the Battle Pass, PvE Season, and Ranked Match rewards have also been updated.
A new agent, John 47, will arrive in the game on September 24. This mysterious specialist is also known as Agent 0 and John Smith. His origins are unknown, and his list of completed operations is regularly altered in intelligence records.
Two more themed events are also coming before the end of fall: World 51 in October and Consequences in November.
The Step Forward campaign has been live since August 26. Players can visit the dedicated page to claim login rewards and earn prizes by completing simple missions, including an exclusive achievement.
The update is live on Steam and Astrum Play.
