Astrum Entertainment announces new team PvPvE shooter NCORE

The new FPS features unique multi-arena mechanics that offer various gameplay scenarios, weapons that can be transformed during the fight, and a peculiar futuristic setting.

Publisher and developer Astrum Entertainment announces a new team-oriented PvPvE arena FPS NCORE, which features unique mechanics in the online shooter genre. The game takes place in the world of the future where all power belongs to corporations which are engaged in a never-ending arms race — a single wrong step could lead to a global catastrophe. Amidst the endless crisis, the society brings back a long-forgotten form of entertainment — gladiator battles, which can lead players to the ultimate glory and earn them the main currency of this world: public influence.

Players will try on the role of gladiators, although not in the ancient Colosseum but in the high-tech arena of the future — the Hexadrome. This is a multifunctional arena which consists of hexes — battlefields that change during the game match. Each hex presents a new world — from the trenches of the First World War and medieval castles to the zombie apocalypse in today’s America. Hexes change unpredictably, so each new round will deliver a unique gaming experience.

Each NCORE battle involves teams of 3 gladiators, and coordinated interaction between them will be the key to victory. The match consists of 4 rounds, during which players should collect victory tokens and place them in special terminals. However, it is up to the fighters to decide whether to hand over the tokens immediately or use them to lure the enemy into a trap. The team that has handed over the most tokens in the 4 rounds wins. Depending on the strategy or gaming style, the team can get their victory tokens in 4 ways. First, clear guard zones — special areas guarded by NPCs. Second, test your skills in challenging boss fights and get unique weapons that cannot be obtained otherwise. Third, track down other players and defeat them in battle. And finally, participate in special events in different locations.

Players will be able to earn tokens using a variety of weapons, armor, and gadgets. Moreover, their gear will directly influence their strategy during the round. The weapons in the game are unique as they can change modes almost instantly, transforming from a ranged weapon to a melee one. Imagine you have an assault rifle in your hands — you can shoot enemies at medium range, and then turn it into a mace and deal with the rest in close combat.

In addition, after dying in a match in NCORE, the player is not kicked from the game: instead, they get to the Underworld, the backstage of the Hexadrome. This is where they can pick up new gear, as well as regroup in order to surprise their enemies after the respawn.

The game is planned for release in 2025.
