Warface remains in Russia, published and developed by Astrum Entertainment
BackAccording to Astrum Entertainment, as part of the asset separation process following the decision of MY.GAMES to leave the Russian market, the popular online shooter Warface will now have two versions. In Russia, the PC version of Warface will keep its name, and Astrum Entertainment will continue to develop and operate the project. The Western version for PC and consoles will be relaunched by MY.GAMES as a separate product with a new name.
This split means that the two versions of the game will exist separately, with Astrum Entertainment and MY.GAMES each developing their own roadmaps, updates, and other unique regional content. For Russian players, Warface will remain available through the VK Play launcher; all existing player accounts will be saved. Active users of the Russian version of Warface on Steam and Epic Games Store will also be able to keep their progress.
“Today Warface has over 120 million registered users around the world, and Russian players are an integral part of this project. The VK community alone has more than two million subscribers. Therefore, we will continue the active development of the project in Russia, taking into account players’ current interests. Until the end of the year, we have already planned updates and original content which will be available only to the Russian audience. We also expect the separation process to take some time, and we will do everything we can to make it as smooth as possible,” commented Sergey Efremov, CEO of Astrum Entertainment.
Astrum Entertainment's portfolio also includes such projects as ArcheAge, LOST ARK, Perfect World, Allods Online, and others, all well-known among Russian players. The range of products published by the company will continue to expand — the latest releases from Astrum Entertainment in Russia are Battle Teams 2 and Atomic Heart.
